Job Description
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as an Sr. Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with our OB/GYN clinic at our Hyde Park location.
In this role, the Licensed Practical Nurse reports to the OBGYN Nurse Manager. The Sr Clinic LPN performs a wide variety of nursing care services to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, APP or physician. Such services can be therapeutic or diagnostic procedures and/or administration of medication.

Essential Job Functions:
- Clinical Practice: Assess patient condition prior to and after treatments and procedures. Documents observations. Notifies physician if patient condition is unstable. Perform patient triage, vital signs, rooming, FMLA, 5s maintenance, procedure assistance and other clinical responsibilities as needed.
- Leadership: Consistently communicates with the nurse manager, registered nurses, additional multidisciplinary team members and physicians to enhance quality of patient care and ambulatory care activities.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Hold an active & current LPN license in the State of Illinois
- Hold an active CPR certification and completion of a Pharmacological course & exam
- The knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately to patients
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in OBGYN and OBGYN procedures
- The required knowledge and skill acquired is desired from an outpatient/ambulatory setting
