Summary:
The SVP, Spend Management Account Management is responsible for setting the enterprise strategy, operating model, and performance outcomes for Vizient’s account management function across all segments and geographies. This role drives market leadership, enterprise growth, and sustained client value through a scalable, high-performing account management organization led through VP, Regional Leaders. The SVP serves as a key member of the Spend Management leadership team, owning the overarching client engagement strategy, revenue growth, retention, and penetration across Vizient’s largest and most strategic client relationships. This leader ensures alignment of Vizient’s full spend management portfolio—clinical, purchased services, and indirect—while enabling VPs to deliver measurable financial, operational, and clinical outcomes for clients. Success in this role requires enterprise-level leadership, deep healthcare supply chain expertise, strong financial acumen, and the ability to shape strategy, influence at the executive level, and build a high-performing, scalable organization.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Strategy & Market Leadership
Define and execute the enterprise account management strategy across all regions, ensuring alignment with Vizient’s growth, retention, and client value objectives.
Establish a scalable operating model that enables consistent delivery of spend management value across diverse client segments.
Identify market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to expand Vizient’s market leadership and service offerings.
Leadership of Regional Vice Presidents
Lead, coach, and develop VP, Regional Leaders, holding accountability for performance across regions including revenue growth, client retention, and value realization.
Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and governance to ensure consistent execution of strategy across regions.
Build a strong leadership pipeline through intentional succession planning and executive development.
Financial & Business Performance
Own enterprise-level revenue growth, retention, margin performance, and client penetration across the account management portfolio.
Drive disciplined business planning and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment between enterprise goals and regional execution.
Optimize resource allocation and investment strategies to maximize return for Vizient and its clients.
Executive Engagement & Strategic Partnerships
Serve as an executive sponsor for Vizient’s most strategic client relationships, engaging with C-suite stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and drive long-term value.
Support VPs in navigating complex client dynamics, high-stakes negotiations, and large-scale transformation opportunities.
Elevate Vizient’s role as a trusted advisor in healthcare supply chain and spend management.
Cross-Enterprise Alignment & Innovation
Partner with product, analytics, sourcing, and performance improvement teams to ensure alignment of capabilities with client needs and market demands.
Act as the voice of the customer at the enterprise level, shaping product development, service innovation, and go-to-market strategies.
Drive consistency in how value is defined, measured, and communicated across the organization.
Analytics, Insights & Value Realization
Ensure enterprise standards for translating data and analytics into executive-level insights that drive action and measurable outcomes.
Champion a value-driven culture, where account management teams consistently quantify and communicate financial, clinical, and operational impact.
Monitor and elevate performance through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain, spend management, or related fields.
