Job Description

We have an exciting growth opportunity for anyone looking to step into a leadership role at the forefront of building and managing a team within our Nanolab Microscopy group.

In the Team Leader Analyst role, you will be responsible for Dual Beam FIB operation and leading a technical team to ensure projects and client expectations are met.

Work schedule: 5pm-2am, varied weekdays/weekend

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate expertise with Dual Beam FIB operation for high quality SEM imaging and TEM sample preparation (~70% of daily responsibility)
  • TEM sample preparation - specific site marking, pre-treatment/protective coating, prepare ultra-thin lamellae from various advanced semiconductor devices
  • Oversee day-to-day Dual Beam operations: establish and manage the timing of projects, discover training needs and provide coaching
  • Supervise, execute, and communicate projects independently and through a technical team
  • Review reports to ensure they meet the customers' needs
  • Timely communication with clients regarding project updates

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Materials Science and Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Dual Beam FIB, SEM / TEM sample preparation
  • Expert knowledge and ability to perform basic tool troubleshooting and interact with vendors
  • Solid understanding of electron microscopy and semiconductor device physics
  • Able to handle multiple functions and maintain good organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines

What would set you apart

  • Prior FA/FIB experience
  • In-depth knowledge and interpretative skills in one or more areas of electron microscopy
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, especially with leading a technical team
  • High reliability, integrity, and conscientious attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position needs to be able to move about inside the office or laboratory to access file cabinets, machinery, equipment, lift boxes, bend down etc.
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead or under tables
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time. 
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, online meetings and in a group setting.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
