Senior Staff Accountant

We are a rapidly growing D2C eCommerce brand and expanding into retail channels. We’re seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team and help strengthen our accounting foundation, support compliance, and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• ERP & Accounting Software: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or NetSuite.
• Ecommerce Platforms: Familiarity with Shopify and Amazon.
• Retail & EDI: Experience with retail operations and EDI integrations.
• Expense Management: Ramp or similar expense management tools.
• Industry Exposure: DTC eCommerce or CPG experience is highly advantageous.

What you'll be doing

Monthly Close & Accruals

• Own the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries.
• Manage accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Review

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of vendor and customer transactions
• Oversee retail & wholesale invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.

Reconciliations & Payroll Tax

• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations (bank, credit cards, inventory, etc.).
• Coordinate with Payroll providers to reconcile payroll taxes and filings.

Compliance & Tax Support

• Assist with sales tax compliance, ensuring correct rates and timely filings.
• Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.

Cost Accounting

• Support cost-accounting processes for products sold across multiple channels
• Work closely to maintain accurate COGS and inventory valuation.

Ad Hoc Projects & Process Improvements

• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency (e.g., system integrations).
• Collaborate with the leadership on projects that enhance financial visibility and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA a plus).
• 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator capable of working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams.
• Proactive approach to process improvement and system integrations.
