This position serves as a Senior Software Developer, supporting the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) in performing complex, professional, and advisory functions in the Bureau of Application Management (BAM). As a Senior Software Developer, you will engage in complex web application development, testing, and implementation tasks. Your responsibilities will include writing, debugging, testing, and documenting new programs and enhancements to existing applications using Java, WebSphere, and various web technologies. You will collaborate with system users and technical colleagues to identify and resolve system issues. Additionally, you will provide technical support, guidance, and training to junior programmers and analysts in Java, WebSphere, and related tools. You'll also implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar platforms, actively participating in agile ceremonies, and contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives.
