Description
The Division of Financial Standards and Examination is within the Department of Insurance.
The mission of the division is to protect consumers by ensuring the financial solvency of
insurers authorized or registered to conduct business in Kentucky. This is accomplished
through administrative oversight, financial analysis, and financial examinations.
We are looking for an Administrative Specialist Senior to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As an Administrative Specialist Senior, you will provide high-level professional administrative support to internal staff and leadership related to the Division of Financial Standards and Examination operations. Perform duties in the oversight of intricate processes such as activities involving mandated regulations or procedures, comprehensive research, or collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and perform other duties as required.

We are looking for an Administrative Specialist Senior to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As an Administrative Specialist Senior, you will provide high-level professional administrative support to internal staff and leadership related to the Division of Financial Standards and Examination operations. Perform duties in the oversight of intricate processes such as activities involving mandated regulations or procedures, comprehensive research, or collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and perform other duties as required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides high level administrative work by reviewing all business applications to ensure companies are in compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintains the corporate Uniform Certificate of Authority Application process regarding updates, changes of data, and the certification process.
- Maintains company certification and admission program by licensing and maintaining insurers including Premium Finance, Surplus lines, Service Warranty, Advisory Organizations, approved insurers, and Risk Retention Groups.
- Processes payments for new business licenses and renewals.
- Communicates procedural and program changes to staff, companies and other interested parties.
- Provides complex professional support by tracking annual statement fees and payments rendered; notify delinquent companies by submitting request for a legal order to be drafted.
- Collects and analyzes data and submit status reports to the Director and Assistant Director.
- Responds to inquiries from the general public, governmental officials or other jurisdictions.
- Interprets laws, regulations, policies and procedures for the statewide and National Association of Insurance Commissioners admission program.
- Research and prepare written responses to staff, companies and other interested parties.
- Cross trains coworkers in their duties.
- Follows the current retention schedule and archives division files when needed.
- Retrieve archive materials when requested.
- Orders supplies for analysts to use for annual review and also assist in ordering materials for Society of Financial Examiners exams for analysts.
