Lead Associate-Feed Mill

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Operate multiple feed production systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

• Operate multiple automated feed production systems inclusive of batching, pelleting, grinding, and receiving.
• Must have the ability to keep all records in an orderly and presentable manner.
• Record and reconcile drug and micro-ingredient inventories as required.
• Must have the ability to be certified for forklift operation.
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned by supervision.
• Must be able to perform duties effectively with minimal supervision.
• Must have the ability to cooperate with other mill and maintenance employees, as well as truck drivers.
• Collect feed samples as directed by supervision.
• Communicate to supervision any issues that interfere with plant production operations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of feed mill manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Intermediate math (add, subtract, multiply and/or divide proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.)
• Basic computer knowledge and usage skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend
• Ability to lift and carry 50 - 60 lbs
• Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments
• Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft
• Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material
