Specialist - CID, Transmission Project Development

Transmission Project Development (TPD), an innovative organization within Capital Infrastructure Development that is tasked with the integration of clean energy into Con Edisons electrical systems, seeks dedicated, dynamic, and innovative team members to join its team. The selected team member will support large scale infrastructure projects throughout the Companys service territory using alternate delivery methods. In addition, the selected team member will be on the leading edge of incorporating renewable energy generation such as Offshore Wind, Large Scale Batteries and Hydroelectric Power. TPD team members possess a "can-do" attitude, have a clear sense of accountability, and understand what it takes to meet customers needs. Strong oral and written communications skills are required for managing projects, making presentations and handling project conflict resolution. Computer proficiency is required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other software tools used for collaboration. Familiarity with the engineering, design, and construction of electric substations and transmission, namely underground transmission, facilities is preferred. Familiarity with project schedules, in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6, is preferred.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee project technical and schedule goals, maintain project-related documentation in applicable project control systems, and provide project progress and financial reports to the appropriate project sponsors.
• Implement project delivery strategies, specifically non-traditional/innovative methodologies that support critical project goals and constraints, support contract execution, as well as gather data and lessons learned for the purposes of continuous improvement.
• Ensure contract adherence, coordinate and problem solve among various engineering/design and construction resources (both internal and external), end users, construction partners and other stakeholders.
• Maintain a continuous field presence, conduct site visits to assess potential projects and refine proposed scopes of work, oversee active project work, and coordinate inspections of completed work for project closeouts.
• Perform data collection, organization, and tracking necessary to ensure accurate, on-demand project reporting in a range of areas, including compliance with project schedules, budgets, scopes, and customer requirements.
• Demonstrate a commitment to customer service and an ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, facilitate efficient problem solving, and prepare status reports and other professional communications that may be distributed to a varied audience.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in managing and/or supporting technical, utility infrastructure projects or
• Associate's Degree and 5 years of experience in managing and/or supporting technical, utility infrastructure projects or
• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience in managing and/or supporting technical, utility infrastructure projects

Preferred Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business, Construction/Project Management or equivalent and 2 years of experience in managing and/or supporting technical, utility infrastructure projects
• Associate's Degree Engineering, Business, Construction/Project Management or equivalent and 5 years of experience in managing and/or supporting technical, utility infrastructure projects

Relevant Work Experience

• Strong oral and written communications, required.
