Junior Project Manager

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as Project Manager. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.
This position serves as the Project Manager of specified tasks allocated to the vendor. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to effectively communicate complex technical matters to upper management, as well as users of all levels. The individual must also be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize items as needed. Scrum Master certification required, PMP and AZ 900 a plus. 
 

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the project, leading a team on large projects or a significant segment of large and complex projects.
• Analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
• Provide applications systems analysis and long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities for necessary support resources.
• Use Scrum methodologies to successfully move the project forward.
• Responsible for working collaboratively with team leadership and team members.

Skills Required

• Must have a minimum one (1) year of experience as a project manager on a large federal government information technology project(s).
• Certification as a Scrum Master is required.
• PMP and AZ 900 certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse set of stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to present concepts to individuals and large groups and serve as a leader to a team.
• Experience leading technical teams either for software development, operations, or engineering.

Essentials

• Education: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 1-year managerial experience as a project manager on federal government information technology project(s).
• Location: Remote - Ability to be onsite in the DMV area occasionally is preferred
• Clearance: Previous Public Trust clearance required
