About the role

 

The Global Markets & Technologies (GM&T) World Business Unit delivers technological solutions (molecules, equipment and services) to support the new markets of energy transition, maritime logistics and scientific exploration, in order to accelerate Air Liquide sustainable growth. To support the energy transition, GM&T brings environmentally friendly solutions to the clean energy market with hydrogen energy and Bio-Natural Gas for vehicles, refrigerated transport using nitrogen, but also the treatment and injection of Biogas into the energy grid as a local power source.

The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor for Biogas OTF will be responsible for supporting all sites within the US Biogas fleet, including landfill (LFG) and anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities. Today, Biogas OTF operates 6 landfill-based facilities (IL,WI, LA, MS, GA) and is constructing two AD facilities (PA, MI), with more in development. The candidate will lead major maintenance projects, develop preventative maintenance plans and procedures, and develop infrastructure involving critical spare parts management. The candidate will provide onsite support during maintenance activities (i.e., planned turnarounds, abnormal conditions). The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor will be instrumental in driving improvements to maintenance and reliability across Biogas OTF. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying needs and developing strategies to build an internal maintenance team to grow with the OTF business. (Currently no direct reports, future 2-4 reports - Including Field Service Technician, I/E Technician….)

Responsibilities

  • Create site-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment at plant 

  • In addition to site-specific SOPs, assist with creation of division-level SOPs

  • Participate in “Plant Operation'' Monitoring

  • Daily monitoring of plant uptime, efficiency, and production vs target and engagement with sites relative to opportunities and issues daily

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise, ensuring maximum plant availability and uptime.

  • Provide coaching to  plant managers and operators using technical expertise and industry best practices

  •  Manage all data collection including all inputs to KPI’s and equipment monitoring points and make/implement recommendations for improvements for increased production

  •  Monitor use of Logbook data collection application to ensure a complete and effective dataset exists for monitoring and improvement activities

  • Assist with the  training of new operators and ensure capability to successfully perform the job and maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations

  • Utilizes systematic, data-based methods to assess opportunities and drive change collaboratively with plant-staff and operations-support staff

  • Define and implement relevant maintenance KPI’s

  • System administrator of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) 

  • Write Preventative Maintenance (PM) work procedures and track KPIs 

  • Organize system infrastructure into a cohesive system

  • Develop Inventory management programs, and manage onsite and centralized warehouse inventories  

  • Utilize use of our Electronic Logbook system, conduct reviews of downtime events, complete RCAs. 

  • Work with cross-functional team including Finance, Energy Management, Digital Security, and Engineering to discover capital-project and continuous-improvement opportunities

  • Support plant capital-projects within allocated budgets, assisting with funding requests and expenditure tracking

  • Work closely with the Procurement department on strategy development to minimize expenses associated with maintenance activities

  • Mentor Biogas OTF team members in technical disciplines and share best practices and knowledge 

  • Support plant staff and ensure appropriate training needs are identified and sufficient training is given

  • Leads team to develop processes and systems to achieve sustainable results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in operations, manufacturing, or technical rol
