Introduction to the team 

We are looking for a Frontend heavy Senior Software Development Engineer to maintain momentum on key initiatives and ensure continued technical leadership across our GenAI Platform backend services, mentor junior engineers, and drive high-quality implementation across several complex backend services. This role is critical to supporting the design and implementation of scalable systems, particularly as we expand core Agentic platform capabilities and onboard use cases to improve employee productivity in Expedia Group. A Senior engineer will provide architectural guidance, unblock the team on complex issues, and help maintain high code quality while accelerating delivery timelines. 

A high performing and influential individual contributor who leads by example while continuing to mentor junior engineers, interfaces consistently with tech leadership in the local organization, leads complex and vaguely defined projects, and stretches into team leadership skills based on current projects.  

In this role, you will:  

• Lead & design for complex systems and UI features 

• Partner with UX designers and Engineering Manager to identify and develop solutions for Experience and UX interactions 

• Partner with Product and Tech to identify and collect data to drive user research 

• Design and implement modular and scalable UI components, that can be shared across pages easily 

• Research and recommend frameworks and architectural/code design patterns. 

• Share domain and industry knowledge between own and cross-functional teams 

• Extend outside of direct organization and collaborate with peers across senior level organization 

 

Experience and Qualifications: 

• 8+ years of experience building and developing distributed and complex software 

• Drove technical design from end to end of at least 3 projects 

• Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization 

• 5+ years of expertise with modern front-end technologies (React, JavaScript, TypeScript) 

• 3+ years in Python, Java or Kotlin 

• Experience integrating with scalable back-end services (e.g., REST / GraphQL) 

• Experience mentoring developers to advance their skills and foster a collaborative team environment 
   

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Demonstrates strength in multiple technologies or programming languages 

• Gen AI experience is highly desired 

• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD processes 

• Full stack engineering experience is highly preferred
