This position is responsible for helping Albireo Energy establish and maintain itself as the premier standard in delivering and executing projects in the building automation industry worldwide, serving all vertical markets. The role involves an initial and ongoing evaluation of all Divisions' execution processes, governance, tool adoption, and personnel performance. Based on these evaluations, the Director develops and oversees the implementation of strategies to address gaps and deficiencies, with the goal of improving project financial performance and enhancing customer experience.
This role requires a dynamic and strategic leader who can enhance project execution capabilities while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will excel at aligning divisional operations with company goals, driving change, and achieving consistent, measurable success across all divisions.
Essential Functions:
- Strategic Alignment and KPI Utilization:
- Collaborate with AE Operations and Finance leadership to align divisional objectives with company goals.
- Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Data-Driven Performance Management:
- Leverage AE financial reporting tools to analyze historical and real-time data on project and personnel performance.
- Provide detailed, actionable performance insights through ongoing tracking and reporting.
- Goal Setting and Professional Development:
- Partner with Divisional General Managers (GMs) to set goals, targets, and development plans for solutions operations managers.
- Deliver constructive feedback to GMs and solutions operations leaders to support mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews.
- Engagement in Project Reviews:
- Actively participate in divisional project review meetings (weekly/monthly) to evaluate financial and operational performance.
- Foster engagement through a combination of in-person and remote participation, tailoring support to divisional needs.
- Training and Coaching:
- Provide targeted training and coaching on key financial and operational practices, including forecasting, cost control, risk management, labor utilization, scheduling, invoicing, accounts receivables, subcontractor management, uses project tools, and project closeout.
- Emphasize practical application of best practices to enhance project management capabilities.
- Risk Mitigation and Recovery:
- Identify at-risk projects or those with potential financial exposure.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate risks and pursue financial recovery.
- Collaboration with Business Controlling:
- Work closely with the Director of Business Controlling to align focus areas and collaborate on at-risk projects and personnel development strategies.
- Standard Work Processes:
- Assist in creating, refining, and deploying standard work processes for end-to-end project execution to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Change Management Leadership:
- Drive change management initiatives to implement improved processes, tools, and practices, ensuring adoption across all divisions.
- Communicate the value and impact of changes to foster buy-in and alignment.
- Cross-Divisional Collaboration:
- Promote collaboration across divisions to share best practices, align strategies, and achieve unified project execution standards.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing across geographies and operational styles.
- Customer Outcome Focus:
- Ensure project execution improvements contribute to enhanced customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and profitability.
- Align operational excellence with measurable business outcomes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, operations, or related fields within the building automation, controls, or construction industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working in a large, matrixed organization with diverse stakeholders.
- Extensive travel primarily within the CONUS, with scheduled visits to divisions outside the CONUS.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Well-rounded professional with experience in all aspects of project delivery and execution.
- Proven track record of improving and transforming project operations teams into industry-leading operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of building relationships and respect at all levels of the organization
