The Role: Associate Price Reporter - Agriculture & Food Pricing

The Agriculture & Food pricing team operates globally, providing key pricing benchmarks across various markets, including Grains, Oilseeds, and Animal Feed. 

The Impact: 

This role offers a unique chance to contribute to S&P Global Commodity Insights' Agriculture & Food price assessments across North America. The Associate Price Reporter will focus on journalistic coverage of market developments, helping to advance our existing price assessments.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead market coverage in Agriculture & Food sectors by reporting on daily physical trade activity, including bids, offers, and other pertinent information. 

• Build and manage a comprehensive database of contacts, seeking new sources to contribute to our assessment process and fostering strong relationships with market participants. 

• Identify opportunities to refine methodologies and assist in launching new price assessments. 

• Create compelling news stories and multimedia content that engage our audience. 

• Collaborate closely with relevant units across the organization, such as commercial, analytics, and news, to ensure cohesive reporting. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Experience in Agriculture & Food markets with a strong journalistic background. 

• Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to apply basic math functions in Excel. 

• Strong communication skills, showcasing effective listening, clear writing, and strong verbal abilities. The capacity to engage with diverse groups and personalities both internally and externally. 

• Fluent in English with exceptional writing skills tailored for journalistic contexts. 

• An entrepreneurial mindset with effective problem-solving capabilities. 

• Ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines. 

• A solid understanding of economics and commodities market fundamentals. 

• Additional language skills would be advantageous. 

• A degree in Agronomics or Journalism. 

• Experience in price reporting or market reporting is a plus.
