The Role:
The Equity Trade Support Analyst provides a very broad range of support functions to various sales and trading desks within Fidelity Capital Markets. With advances in technology, it is important that you have an aptitude for understanding complex (and changing) workflows. We need you to efficiently apply your knowledge and experience to the problem or task at hand, while having an appreciation of the impact your decisions may have on other partners (i.e. customers, colleagues, traders, etc.) We would like you to feel empowered to be proactive and creative when it comes to solving business problems. In support of the various desks and clients, we expect you to work closely with other middle office, back office, and technology personnel to achieve straight through processing while minimizing risk, exposure, and errors.
Monitoring and ensuring timely and accurate allocations for equity trades, including blocks, electronic, SAM, and Program trades
Resolving issues with unallocated trades, incorrect allocations, money differences, trades that are not settling, clearing, or comparing, problem with confirms and bad account instructions, closed accounts, P&S trade breaks, DVP/RVP Fails, and step-outs
Building and maintaining contacts with clients, contra brokers, floor brokers, and other parties involved with trade execution, allocation, clearance, and settlement
Monitoring error accounts, including assisting sales/traders with running, covering, and documenting errors, as well as providing timely reporting on all errors
Analyzing internal operations, seeking ways to improve work flows through automation.
Minimizing operational, monetary, and reputational risk to the firm by building and supporting a thoroughly procedurally-compliant
The Expertise and Skills You Bring:
Brokerage industry experience, preferably in trading or middle/back-office operations
Bachelor's Degree
Series 7 and 63 Licenses (if not currently registered, such exams must be successfully passed within six months of hire)
You have strong analytical and project management capabilities
You can work independently with little direct supervision with recognition of when to partner and collaborate to gain consensus across multiple business divisions
You offer detailed knowledge of custody operations: such as DVP/RVP flows
You bring proven understanding of comparison, clearance and settlement for domestic equity and options
You have an ability to balance trading risks and the escalation process effectively and timely

FCM offers a suite of electronic brokerage products and execution services across multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, options, and forex, as well as prime brokerage, securities lending, and municipal and bank issued brokered CD underwriting.
