Pastry Commis Chef (Season 2026)

At Santa Marina, a Luxury Collection Resort, Mykonos, every guest experience is thoughtfully crafted, and every team member plays a vital role in creating unforgettable moments. As a Pastry Commis Chef, you will support our Pastry team in delivering refined desserts and baked creations that elevate the overall dining experience, combining precision, consistency, and creativity in every detail.

This is a hands-on role for a motivated pastry professional who values quality ingredients, elegant presentation, and teamwork. Working closely with the Pastry Chef and senior pastry colleagues, you will develop your skills in a dynamic, high-volume luxury kitchen environment while contributing to sweet moments that leave a lasting impression on our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily pastry and dessert preparation, contributing to a variety of baked goods, desserts, and plated creations
  • Prepare mise en place by accurately measuring, scaling, mixing, and organizing ingredients and equipment for service
  • Follow established recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards to ensure consistency, quality, and visual appeal
  • Monitor storage areas, refrigerators, and ingredients to ensure freshness, correct temperatures, and proper stock rotation
  • Assist with inventory control, stock handling, and waste minimization while maintaining high quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation in full compliance with food safety and HACCP standards
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are properly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use at the end of each shift
  • Collaborate closely with the Pastry team and wider kitchen brigade to ensure smooth, timely service
  • Support pastry operations across dining outlets, events, and special functions as required

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Pastry Arts or Culinary Studies is an advantage
  • At least 6 months of hands-on pastry experience in an entry-level position within a professional kitchen environment
  • Basic knowledge of pastry and baking techniques, with a strong desire to learn and develop further
  • High attention to detail, aesthetic awareness, and pride in presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, safety standards, and best practices
  • All applicants must hold the legal right to work in Greece
