Brief Department/Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual within the RTX Enterprise Services – Controllership and Compliance team. This organization offers opportunity for this individual to be part of a growing accounting department and develop processes to sustain flexibility as business needs change. Job responsibilities are subject to change based upon alignment of processes within this developing organization. This is not a Senior Level position
JOB DESCRIPTION
What You Will Do
- Represent the fixed asset organization working with individuals at all levels across the organization.
- Perform fixed asset tasks (reconciliations, journal entries, depreciation analysis, disposals, transfers, & capitalization requests) along with analysis of balance sheet accounts.
- Support the monthly close process through ensuring accuracy and completeness of settlement and depreciation runs timely.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of company-wide policy as it relates to fixed assets and consistently apply policy through daily tasks.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests tax reporting and audit requests.
- Provide guidance and coaching to fixed asset team members related to system, policy, and procedure related questions.
Qualifications you must have
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field and at least 2 years relevant experience or an advanced degree.
- Knowledge of or experience with current enterprise finance and accounting systems such as: SAP and month end close procedures.
- Familiarity with US GAAP Accounting principles.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and database reporting skills.
Education Experience Skills and Certifications
- This role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field and at least 2 years relevant experience or an advanced degree.
Required Security Clearance ( If applicable)
- This position requires the eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Required Immigration Status (work authorization)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in SAP, Onestream and/or HFM.
- Analytical, planning, and organizational skills to problem solve and recommend comprehensive solutions.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, good business acumen and ability to brief all levels of management.
- Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to maintain a service-oriented demeanor with professionalism in sensitive and challenging situations.
Work Location: Hybrid based near an RTX hub (Cedar Rapids, IA, or Farmington/Hartford CT)
