Position Overview:

The Sexual Health Capacity Building Coordinator will work in partnership with the Community Health Equity and Promotion Branch of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) capacity building staff and community-based organizations to support the development and implementation of culturally appropriate models of low barrier sexual health clinical services in Health Access Points (HAPs).The Sexual Health Capacity Building Coordinator will work as part of a team with SFDPH and HAP staff to develop and implement a plan for sexual health services that meets the unique needs of each community served by the HAPs. The Sexual Health Capacity Building Coordinator will provide capacity building and technical assistance to support program design and the compliance infrastructure, including development of policies and procedures, forms and intake procedures, service delivery workflows, and licenses and certifications required. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management: Provides project management to the team comprised of SFDPH, HAP leadership, and subject matter experts to ensure that work plan deliverables and milestones are established and achieved. Develops planning framework, assists with agenda setting, meeting facilitation, documentation, and project-related data collection and analysis. 

  • Program Planning and Development: Responsible for working collaboratively with SFDPH, HAP leaders, HAP subcontractors, and others to develop a program plan and a specific measurable workplan for implementation of sexual health services at HAPs. Establishes standards of care for services to meet community needs, clinical requirements, and meets funding expectations. Builds relationships, identifies needs, and ensures collaboration to determine effective models for integrated testing at each site. Provides guidance on the development of lab services. Support the internal SFAF HAP programs to coordinate and collaborate.

  • Sexual Health Service Capacity Building: Responsible for providing guidance and hands-on support to HAP leadership and staff for development of sexual health services. This includes identifying and bringing in additional subject matter experts to provide the support needed. 

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Supports coordination of community based events to build knowledge of the needs of the community and use this information to enhance capacity building assistance. 
  • Attend meetings with SFDPH, conduct site visits with HAPs, consult with local and state experts, participate in relevant training. 
  • Provide reports to SFAF leadership on capacity building accomplishments. 



Essential Qualifications:

  • Community Engagement: Extensive participation in the lived experiences and cultural contexts of MSM, Black/African American, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, Transgender and gender non-binary communities.
     
  • Project Management and Supervisory Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Ability to organize projects by relevance and urgency. Ability to keep moving projects forward and project tea
