QC Floater

Overview:

The QC Floater can perform all the requirements of the following positions:

• Assembler/Builder 4
• Machine Operator 3
• Receiver 3
• Forklift 3
• Loader 2

When appropriate, this position may be assigned to the Mill to build units in any department or to the Warehouse to Receive, Put Away, Pick for the Mill, or Load trucks for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Pallet Reclaim: Inspect, repair, and reclaim pallets as needed to ensure proper functionality and safety standards
• Repair Shop Duties: Perform various maintenance tasks in the repair shop, including equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
• Floor Repair: Address and repair floor damage, ensuring a safe and clean working environment for all personnel.
• Cart Maintenance: Maintain and repair carts used in the facility, ensuring they are in good working condition for operational needs.
• Fill in as QC Technician: Support the quality control team by conducting inspections, testing, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Service Helper/Tech Duties: Assist in servicing and maintaining equipment, providing technical support, and ensuring all systems are operating at optimal performance levels.

Additional Responsibilities

• Setup and operate machines to route hinges and required lockset, cut jambs and heads to correct size, utilize various saws (cut off, radial arm and inline rip saw and planer).
• Read tickets and/or labels to properly pull the required components necessary for building the door correctly.
• Performs the following: bracing, packaging, strapping, stitching, hand-routing hinges, ripping
• Proficient at: interior/exterior jamb prep, headers, twins, simple repairs, sliders, cut down
• Completes complex bench units and repairs
• Operates all machines efficiently
• Proficient at loading of all materials onto a truck
• Proficient at operating standup and sit-down forklift
• RMAs, Refused off Truck, Put-aways, receiving of all materials, and can manage corrections
• Superior product knowledge

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Operate various machines safely and proficiently
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in industry
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, excellent dexterity, must work at a fast pace and handle multiple parts, fast pace is physically demanding
• Ability to understand/read English Required
• Minimum High School Diploma
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
