The Role: 

This role is a part of the Studio Team. Studio is a new client facing platform that is being built out at Clear Street, to provide our clients with a holistic multi-prime view of their risk and trading activity and performance. This engineer will work on the backend systems (mostly written in Java) powering Studio, building various microservices,  helping make architecture and design decisions and helping build out a scalable and industry leading solution.

The Team:  

The Studio team currently consists of about 10 engineers, a mix of backend and frontend, working on implementation of the greenfield studio platform.  Mostly NYC based and in office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 7+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems in production.
• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience utilizing Java, Spring, Spring Boot, RDBMS, and microservice based server side application development.
• Ability to create clean, concise, readable, maintainable code.
• Effective and concise oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with containerisation, microservices architecture, continuous integration and deployment.

We Offer:  

The Base Salary Range is $170,000 - $240,000. These ranges are representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.
