Sr. C++ Server engineer for VMware Live Recovery

We have an exciting opportunity for Sr. C++ Server engineer for VMware Live Recovery (VLR), in Storage and Data Protection group in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) division.

You will be part of a tightly knit and fast paced team that will work in an agile environment. We focus on ease of deployment and solving key customer data protection and storage challenges. 

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will become part of a group of world class engineers, working together to build a better product - solving real issues for our customers, and doing that at the best quality possible.

You will be expected to:

• Learn and apply new technologies, best design practices and usability patterns

• Contribute to product direction and design discussions

• Actively participate in all phases of software development including requirements, design, coding, unit testing, debugging and design/code reviews

• Become immersed in all aspects of our innovative and collaborative culture and ensure you get the full Broadcom experience

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Deliver product features in a highly scalable distributed storage and data and protection
• Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of an agile team.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver high quality code with tests in place to prevent any regressions.
• Lead and participate in code reviews.
• Write design specifications and document your work.

• You have a  Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or related degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors with minimum of 15+ years of experience or Master's in Computer Science & Engineering with minimum of 13+ years of experience

• Solid knowledge of OOP concepts, object/data modeling, and data structures

• Deep working knowledge/expertise in C/C++

• Deep working knowledge in multithreading, IPC, socket, signals etc programming

• Expertise in Linux based systems and system level programming experience

• Daily you will communicate in English thus excellent language skills are required

• GoLang is a plus

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will join a team with around 10 team members some of which have many years of expertise in this product area. You will also communicate with other close teams in the same product area in Sofia, India, China, and the US.

Where is this role located?
You will be expected to live within a reasonable daily commute of the office
