CAD Administrator – Siemens NX & Teamcenter

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced CAD Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our PDM/PLM software environment, supporting engineering design and collaboration workflows. This role is responsible for ensuring system stability, user support, configuration management, and process optimization to enhance engineering productivity. The environment is hosted on a secure cloud infrastructure with virtualized end-user access.

 

Specific responsibilities may include:

• System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM software in a private AWS GovCloud instance for backend components and AWS VDI for end-user access.
• User Support & Training: Provide technical assistance to engineering teams, troubleshoot issues, and conduct training sessions for best practices.
• Customization & Optimization: Develop and implement workflows, automation scripts, and system customizations to improve efficiency.
• Data Management: Oversee data integrity, security, and backup procedures for CAD and PLM systems hosted on AWS.
• Software Upgrades & Patch Management: Coordinate system updates, patches, and licensing to ensure compatibility and security.
• Collaboration: Work with IT, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align CAD/PLM strategies with business objectives.
• Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve performance issues, CAD model inconsistencies, and system failures.
• Process Documentation: Maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting guides.

 

Competencies

We are looking for a CAD and PDM Engineer that is:

• In-depth knowledge of PLM/CAD architecture, deployment, and maintenance in AWS GovCloud environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS VDI, Windows/Linux server environments, and networking concepts relevant to CAD/PLM.
• Experience with Teamcenter customization, BMIDE, workflows, and access control management.
• Familiarity with NX Open API, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Batch scripting) for automation.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues, licensing problems, and system conflicts.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration and user training

Experience Level:

3+ years of experience as a CAD/PLM administrator with Siemens NX and Teamcenter

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with integration of Teamcenter with ERP/MES systems.
• Knowledge of CAD data migration and system transition planning.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem CAD and PLM solutions.
• Certification in AWS and/or Siemens NX or Teamcenter Administration is a plus.
