We are proud to be a Magnet facility, Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Designated Stroke Center. As a Cardiac Cath Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in our Nursing Clinical Ladder Program.

Our Cardiac Catherization Lab is high acuity, specializing in percutaneous interventional procedures of the heart. Procedures include angioplasty, stent placement, rotoblators, peripheral studies and interventions, and structural heart repairs. BUMC-P has a very robust Structural Heart program and performs procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair and left atrial appendage closures are done in this area. BUMC-P has 4 interventional cardiology suites, 2 EP suites and 2 hybrid OR's. The cath lab team is comprised of highly skilled professionals that include special procedure technicians, registered nurses and interventional cardiologists. The RN is an integral part of the team and is responsible for many duties in the cath lab, including circulating, monitoring and documenting the case. Under the direction of the physician, the RN is responsible for procedural sedation and maintaining patient safety during the procedure. 

Schedule: 4 10's Monday-Friday

Hours: 7:00am-5:30pm; night, weekend, and holiday call requirement

Enjoy call pay, an 18%-night shift differential, and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential when applicable.

Must have Cath Lab, EP, and/or 2+ years of Critical Care experience

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregiver
