Job Description

We’re seeking an energetic and self-motivated Senior Mechanical Plumbing Designer with 10+ years of experience. This position is part-time, working 10 to 20 hours a week. The successful individual will have experience in the design of plumbing systems for offices, military construction, hospitals, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. In addition, the individual must be comfortable consulting to architectural practices and have a desire to work on a multi-discipline engineering team.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION 

• Capable of performing self‐directed design work. 
• Possess advanced design skills.
• Proficient in CAD skills, including recognition of standards.
• Able to train and assign work to Designers and CAD professionals.
• Able to support field investigation and construction administration activities.
• Able to size and lay out basic system components.
• Works from detailed sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays, and simple isometric drawings. 
• Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings. 
• Able to work with numerous project teams to assist with project completion. 
• Extensive knowledge of codes and design and construction practices.  
• Experienced with the latest release of AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD and BIM tools common to the discipline. 
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. 
• Detail oriented, possess a high degree of accuracy. 
• Able to work independently as well as on teams. 
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

• Minimum of 10 plus years of experience designing plumbing systems for commercial buildings. 
• B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college in related field (preferred). 
• Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) or equivalent (preferred) 
• Knowledge of relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing  
• Proficient in CAD and Revit.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Expected Hourly Rate: $40.00 - $44.25
