About the role:
The Q2C (Quote-to-Contract) Global Product Owner (PO) is a business-oriented individual focused on the development and expansion of our CPQ (Configure Price Quote) and CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) solutions, which are part of our broader Revenue Management transformation at BSC. This individual is responsible for driving the overarching Product(s) strategy and continued expansion of CPQ and CLM to other divisions and regions (globally) within BSC. The overarching goal is to gain consistent business input for the continued improvement and deployment of enterprise-wide system capabilities that will strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of our commercial pricing and contracting execution. This individual will work closely with key stakeholders across divisional (and regional) Sales Operations and Pricing/Contracting teams, along with field sales professionals, to ensure the Products are meeting global needs while also minimizing software customizations.��This role is hybrid, with the candidate spending an average of 3 days per week at either the company’s Arden Hills, MN or Marlborough, MA office. This position will report to the Manager, Revenue Management, Commercial Services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Actively seek input from current and future product users through group and individual requirement gathering discussions to clearly understand customer needs and prioritization. Manage expectations and perceptions through clear, well-defined communication verbally and in writing.
- Accountable for the upkeep and management of the product backlog that is derived from the continuous flow of business requirements and enhancement opportunities that improve foundational capabilities and align with long-term Product vision and Roadmap. Exercise sound judgement in the selection and prioritization of the work product.
- Support the establishment of business value and priority for requirements, leveraging Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s) and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) concepts (rapid engagement, piloting, iteration)
- Support gathering of requirements and drafting of user stories through the team’s stakeholder intake process.
- Drive an efficient and sustainable, global capability through reusability of existing capabilities and process harmonization/transformation.
- Work with IT Revenue Management team and relevant vendor(s), as required, through all stages of the development process. Help influence vendor(s) Product roadmap to drive improvements/enhancements, as necessary.
- Assist with development of user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts and participate in formal UAT with support from identified business end users.
- Stay current on new features, functionality, and application capabilities of “Quote to Contract” solutions to address business requirements.
- Collaborate with other Product Owners to find synergies and maximize BSC organizational benefits (value) and best practices (leveraging Revenue Management team’s pan-BSC lens & tools)
- Manage and complete special projects and analytic research based on request(s) from Leadership; create presentations, as necessary, for review with Sr. Management
- Actively support and participate in the products’ governance process to ensure global alignment and adhere to organizational and industry best-practices/standards.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, IT, Marketing, Economics, or similar discipline)
- Highly motivated, high impact individual with strong technical, analytical and leadership competencies
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to make a significant contribution to performance and revenue growth.
- Experience working with Sales/Marketing in a pricing, analytical and contracting capacity.
- At least 8 years of total business experience
- Experience working within a technical product team, specifically in the Product Owner role.
- Experience in creating and managing product/capability-driven strategic plans and roadmaps.
- Exposure to contracting/revenue management systems (most notably, Conga CPQ and CLM) and the Salesforce platform is preferred.
