The Factor Health Lab at Dell Medical School is seeking an Undergraduate Program Associate to support our research programmatic activities. Our lab focuses on innovative approaches to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations by collaborating with community organizations, healthcare payers, and investors.

Purpose

The selected candidate will primarily participate in the ongoing Kidney Health: Eat Well, Live Well trial. This study aims to determine if providing free kidney-friendly fruits and vegetables and associated recipes and education, gift cards to their preferred grocer, and support from a dedicated caller can help participants manage their early-stage kidney disease effectively.

Responsibilities

Perform various program functions, including produce bag ordering and gift card balance checks.

  • Conduct welcome calls and other communications with study participants.
  • Use REDCap and Excel spreadsheets to record and manage data.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the program team and leadership as needed.
  • Meet with research participants and collect biomedical measurements (including blood pressure and HbA1c via finger stick).
  • Administer surveys via a tablet and conduct structured interviews.
  • Perform data entry functions and track research data.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student at UT Austin
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
  • Interest in public health, nutrition, healthcare, or related fields.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with REDCap 
  • CITI training

Salary Range

  • $20.00 Hourly

Working Conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

  • Fully Remote
