Overview

WSP is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Materials Project Manager to support our Construction Materials Testing Services Operation in the Phoenix, Arizona area.  This team has an excellent reputation and ambition to grow and serve an increased client base in a growing business line.  As a successful candidate, you will join in leading an established team and become a part of the WSP where you will be connected with technical experts to share skills with, to push technology, efficiency, and innovations on various projects.

WSP’s Phoenix office provides a broad range of services in engineering and construction materials services including development and implementation of quality assurance/control programs, field and inspections, special inspections and materials testing services to our broad range of clientele. The successful candidate will have experience in consulting, selling, managing and implementing materials projects in at least one of the following: Industrial, Oil & Gas, Government, Energy, Mining and Transportation sectors.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work to identify/develop new clients for our Materials Service Line including networking outside and inside WSP through our service lines and external meetings/conferences.
  • Manage materials projects involving quality assurance/control programs, special inspections, materials testing, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved.
  • Perform and/or lead lab/field work activities in accordance with state and Federal regulations and accepted protocols. 
  • Data analysis and reporting for specific project tasks with minimal supervision in accordance with accepted scientific/engineering practices and principles
  • Provide technical review for projects to comply with company standards, contract requirements and related specifications
  • Preparation of marketing materials, proposals and cost estimates
  • Travel to project sites primarily in Arizona.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Graduate 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Materials Testing with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong background providing materials testing services to clients in the Industrial, Oil & Gas, Government, Energy, Mining and Transportation sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise with ASTM, AASHTO, ADOT, USACE, regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with materials testing services.  
  • Must be a self-starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the use of standard software packages including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel to project sites primarily in Arizona.
  • Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
