About the role

Our mission: to eliminate every barrier to mental health.

Spring Health is a comprehensive mental health solution for employers and health plans. Unlike any other solution, we use clinically validated technology called Precision Mental Healthcare to pinpoint and deliver exactly what will work for each person  — whether that’s meditation, coaching, therapy, medication, and beyond.

Today, Spring Health equips over 800 companies, from start-ups to multinational Fortune 500 corporations, as a leading and preferred mental health service. Companies like J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Microsoft, J.B. Hunt, Bumble, and Instacart use the Spring Health platform to provide mental health services to thousands of their team members globally. We have raised over $370 million from prominent investors including Kinnevik, Tiger Global, Northzone, RRE Ventures, and many more. Thanks to their partnership, our current valuation has reached $2.5 billion.

Spring Health is looking for a Lead Product Designer to join our Caregiver Experience team.  As a Design Lead, you will take ownership over new strategic direction(s) for Spring’s caregiver experience, as well as contribute to further developments of our world-class care delivery platform that’s used by therapists, psychologists, coaches, care navigators, and more. You will partner with: peer designers and Design Systems, Product, Engineering, Data Science, our internal mental health care professionals/subject matter experts, strategists, and operations teams, giving you exposure to a wide variety of learning opportunities. You will contribute to the strategic direction, look, feel, and interactions of our web app by designing workflows that caregivers use every day to take care of their clients. You will evolve healthcare design best practices to be simple, educational, guided, collaborative, and data-driven.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Discover: Work with your team to identify and understand key strategic opportunities for our Caregiver Experience. Support ongoing initiatives.
  • Define: Work within and expand our strategy to deliver impactful experiences. Empower your cross functional team to remain focused on breakthrough impact.
  • Plan: Carry strategic projects through all the steps of the design process including: product thinking, product and user research, user analysis, ideation, design, testing and validation, and post-launch activities/evaluations.
  • Improve: Uplevel and refine the interaction and usability of our web app.
  • Distribute: Partner with design, product, engineering, data science, and our operations teams to create measurable experiences for our Caregivers Experience team.
  • Document: Help everyone at the organization understand design decisions and progress through high quality documentation and guidance.
  • Advocate: Be a design ambassador. Communicate the value of design with empathy and connect dots across products, services, and orgs.

What we expect from you:

  • 6-8 years of experience as a product designer at a digital product company contributing to and leading the design of product experiences. Experience in healthcare is nice to have.
  • Experience partnering with Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science teammates, as well as managing/communicating with external stakeholders, to identify and deliver key strategic value.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating, discussing, and advocating for design decisions. Embody all of Spring Health’s values, especially candor with care. Effectively collaborate and communicate cross-functionally to solve problems.
  • Make thoughtful decisions and have experience using qualitative and quantitative data along with experimentations to evaluate hypotheses.
  • Genuine interest in building accessible and inclusive products. Understanding of latest accessibility and usability standards. Comfortable using and contributing to Design Systems.
  • Excellent product, interaction, and visual design. Multiple examples of your ability to design best in class user interfaces. A portfolio of strong leadership, interaction design, visual design, product design, and impact/metric-focused work.
  • Expertise with Figma and prototyping.
  • Capable of conducting user research and copywriting.
  • An understanding of how your designs will be implemented. Rudimentary understanding of modern engineering frameworks such as React.
  • Love for design: you’re not satisfied with the status quo and always think of ways to improve.
  • Above all, you are empathetic, generous, and curious. You understand that our product can have a significant impact on real lives and you put users first in every decision you make.
