Medical Billing AR Specialist

The Medical Billing AR Specialist is responsible for payer follow-up on claims. AR specialists are expected to complete work on time as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager. An AR Specialist must comply with applicable laws regarding billing standards and be able to operate in a team-oriented environment that strives to provide superior service providers throughout the country.
 

Responsibilities

• Follow up on all assigned insurance claims to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

• Process assigned AR work lists provided by the manager in a timely manner.

• Communicate with insurance companies to address and resolve billing issues .

• Recommend accounts to be written off on Adjustment Request.

• Submit claims to AHCCCS.

• Manage and resolve any discrepancies related to billing for AHCCCS patients.

• Properly notate patient accounts to ensure claims are processed and paid.

 

Required Education & Skills

• Knowledge of Commercial Insurances, Medicare Compliance, and AHCCCS

• Medical Software Knowledge

• Experience processing claims

• Medical Billing (1 year of experience is required)

• Associates Degree required

• 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role required

• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently 

Schedule

• Monday - Friday 

• 8 hour workdays
