LIBERTY Dental Plan is seeking an Internal Communications Writer to help elevate how employees stay informed, inspired, and connected to our mission.

In this role, you will help drive employee understanding of key initiatives, support leadership communication, and strengthen our culture through thoughtful, well‑crafted messaging.

** This is a part-time role 20 - 24 hours a week **


What You’ll Do

As an Internal Communications Writer, you will own a broad range of internal communication deliverables, including:


Writing clear, engaging, and accurate employee-facing content (emails, intranet articles, leadership messages, talking points, communication and change‑management plans).
Translating complex insurance and business information into approachable, easy‑to‑understand messaging.
Ensuring all content aligns with brand voice, corporate values, and regulatory requirements.
Partnering with the People team and departments across the business to develop communication strategies that support key initiatives.
Supporting enterprise campaigns such as Open Enrollment, culture programs, compliance updates, and change‑management efforts.
Providing writing support for internal events, recognition programs, and company initiatives.
Drafting high-quality executive communications, scripts, and presentations for senior leaders.
Helping leaders communicate clearly, consistently, and with empathy.
Assisting in the development of communication plans for projects, new systems, and operational updates.
Collaborating with project teams to understand impacts and ensure employees receive clear, timely information.
Managing and updating intranet content, email platforms, and internal communication tools.
Conducting regular intranet audits to maintain accuracy, consistency, and usability.
Maintaining content taxonomy and page structure to enhance navigation and user experience.
Working with content owners across the organization to ensure information is routinely refreshed.
Measuring communication effectiveness using analytics, feedback, and engagement metrics—and recommending improvements.
Upholding communication standards, tone‑of‑voice guidelines, and accessibility best practices.
Partnering closely with the Director of Internal Communications and the People Business Partner team.
Building strong relationships with subject matter experts across functions.
Supporting crisis and issues communications.
Gathering, summarizing, and reporting on employee feedback and communication sentiment.



What You Bring


Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in corporate or internal communications, content writing, or similar fields; experience in regulated industries (insurance, healthcare, financial services) is a plus.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
Strong ability to simplify complex topics into clear, digestible content.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with intranet content management systems, email platforms, and collaboration tools (such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams); experience with Simpplr is a plus.
Ability to build trusted partnerships and provide communication guidance to leaders.
Familiarity with AP style, plain‑language principles, and communication accessibility standards (e.g., readability and ADA digital standards).
Basic understanding of UX writing or digital content best practices.
