The Work You Will Do:

This position will perform laboratory testing and evaluation of portland cement concrete and related materials. Key responsibilities of this position are the review, testing, and approval of materials for approved products listing. This includes the documentation of these approvals while maintaining laboratory accreditation requirements in accordance with published standards. These duties and responsibilities are to ensure materials incorporated into Department projects meet established quality standards for performance and durability.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Coordinate activities, evaluate, and recommend approval of new products for inclusion on the Department’s Approved Products List (APL) based on data obtained by testing in accordance with the applicable Florida Sampling and Testing Methods (FSTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) or American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) test methods. Review test data to determine if all applicable test results have been included and test data obtained appears reasonable when compared with historical data. Update the product tracking database and accurately report results in the appropriate database.

 

Coordinate activities, determine, and report the physical characteristics of structural reinforcing products. Review material test data to determine if all applicable test results have been included and appear reasonable when compared with historical data. Review and approve material certifications of products for compliance with the current project specifications and contract documents.

 

Maintain and update the documentation for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Accreditation Program (AAP) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Accreditation Program.
