Senior Staff Specialist (Colorectal) (525695)

The hospital:

• The LGH is looking to employ a CSSANZ qualified Colorectal Surgeon to join our Colorectal Unit of 3 surgeons as part of our general surgical team of 8 surgeons.
• The Colorectal unit services a population of over 250,000 in northern Tasmania.  A full scope of practice is supported by accredited(4) and unaccredited (8) general surgical registrars,  large anaesthetic department and accredited  12 + bed ICU
• Access to a busy Private practice is available
• The industrial instrument (VMS or Salaried Staff Specialist) of employment and hours are negotiable.

The role:

• Provide quality specialist and subspecialty medical services to the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) within the limits of specified clinical privileges.

Details of Appointment

Fixed Term, part time, day worker (with on call) position working 36 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a three-year period.

*Notwithstanding hours and industrial instrument of employment to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary:

Specialist Medical Practitioners 

Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $310,349 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging 

Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 -$301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

• Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

• Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum, pro rata
• Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum, pro rata

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

1. Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. 1. Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent
