Senior Manager, Global Regulatory Affairs (Brussels) will report to the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs in Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs, a part of the Safety, Security & Compliance ET&T organization. Position responsibilities span a region that includes but is not limited to Europe and the UK, and is based on-site at Boeing’s office in Brussels, Belgium.

Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs (GS&RA) represents the Chief Aerospace Safety Office and is part of ET&T’s Safety, Security, and Compliance organization. GS&RA works locally in regions around the world to earn and maintain trust in the safety & compliance of Boeing products and services. GS&RA teams responsibly represent the company in regional safety & regulatory forums and work to mitigate safety & regulatory risks.

This position is a part of GS&RA’s Global Regulatory Affairs team, which focuses on regional matters related to rulemaking, compliance, and mitigating regulatory risks to the business. The role functions in close collaboration with the GS&RA’s Global Safety team, which focuses on matters related to operational safety in-region.

Senior Manager, Global Regulatory Affairs (Brussels) leads a small team of locally based regulatory experts to represent in-region Boeing engineering interests on regulatory, policy, and safety issues to regulators, rulemaking bodies, and aviation safety organizations. While much of the team’s focus will be driven by activity in Europe and the UK, responsibilities include a larger region that includes but may not be limited to Africa. The team will often be called upon to manage immediate risks to Boeing delivery that involve regulatory organizations in-region. The team is also expected to lead strategic mitigation of longer-term regulatory risks to Boeing business units.

The senior manager in this role must lead a successful balance between tactical business needs and steady progress towards strategic goals. The role requires ensuring strong coordination, integration, and alignment with internal Boeing teams– including but not limited to Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness, BCA Programs Engineering, BCA & BGS Customer Support, Boeing Global, Government Operations, and BCA & BGS Sales organizations.

Strong candidates are experienced Boeing leaders with a solid internal Boeing network, a background in commercial product certification/validation, strong experience representing the company externally, can successfully serve as a leader to highly experienced aviation professionals, and has exposure to various aspects of aircraft manufacturer and/or operator compliance frameworks.

Candidates currently based outside of the EU may be eligible to receive relocation support in the form of an International Long-Term Assignment (ex-pat) to Brussels, Belgium. Relocation & assignment benefits to the international location will be provided per standard long-term international assignee benefits. This is a Long-Term Assignment to Brussels, Belgium for up to 3 of years of assignment. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided.

Training, as needed, for this role will be based in Everett, Washington.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team of locally hired regulatory experts. Lead multiple internal stakeholder organizations indirectly through collaboration and accountability.

• Ensure Boeing interactions build trust. Guide leadership interactions between Boeing and local regulator officials. Help US-based teams stay accountable to regulator action items. Ensure proper consideration of company and FAA positions.

• Develop and foster relationships with regulatory agencies, including leaders of the various regulator sub-organizations (Certification management, International Branch, Continued Airworthiness, Flight Standards, etc.).

• Develop and foster relationships with international FAA offices, ICAO regional offices and regional aviation industry associations.

• Identify the regional regulatory risks most impactful to Boeing business units. Ensure mitigation plans are coordinated well internally and sensitive to regional differences.
