We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Global Tax to join our Corporate Finance Team.

Reporting to the VP-Tax, the Associate Director, Global Tax will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of tax compliance and financial statement tax provision for our multi-national operations. In addition to strong technical expertise, the successful candidate will build, lead and mentor a global team and interface with internal accounting and finance teams, as well as work closely with external auditors and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the global income tax provision process on an annual and quarterly basis, covering aspects such as the effective tax rate, deferred tax calculations, taxes payable, uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliations, journal entries, and related documentation.
  • Manage the process of income tax budgeting and forecasting, including quarterly global cash tax forecast reporting.
  • Coordinate and support the federal, state, local and international income tax preparation process with external advisors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax service providers, coordinating tax compliance efforts and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax-related services.
  • Assist in developing and implementing tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company and provide guidance on potential implications.
  • Provide support for the planning, structuring, and reporting of acquisitions and divestitures, including modeling tax implications, purchase accounting, and tax elections.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, and legal teams, to provide guidance and support on tax-related matters. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of tax initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and assess potential tax risks and exposures associated with the company's operations. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the tax department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree (Masters in Taxation) preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience focused on tax accounting and compliance from a combination of public accounting firm and multi-national in-house experience with significant portion of experience in consolidation and audit of income tax provision.
  • Experience managing relationships with external tax service providers and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing multi-national corporate income tax compliance; with both Internal and external compliance teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax matters to senior management.
