About the role

The Strategic Financing Solutions (“SFS”) team is a joint venture at the connection point of Banking & Sales and Trading. SFS partners across the Global Banking & Markets franchises on unconventional financing solutions for strategic situations, including private and emerging financial innovations. Our team leads the origination, structuring, and development of both principal risk and syndicated structures in situations where traditional markets are not the best fit or where there is a developing theme. The team is client-centric, serving as complementary professionals to Trading, Banking Coverage, and Capital Markets teams.

Job Summary:

As an Executive Director in the Strategic Financing Solutions (SFS) team, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping business strategy, driving origination, and overseeing execution across the full spectrum of strategic financing transactions. You will lead the "full cycle" of transactional execution, including developing and presenting marketing pitches, overseeing and synthesizing financial analysis, preparing and delivering internal committee memoranda and client presentations. You will operate in a dynamic and fast-paced Capital Markets environment, providing strategic direction and mentorship to junior team members, and collaborating with senior stakeholders across product areas to originate and structure complex corporate financing transactions. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the SFS business, including structure analysis, pipeline management, evaluating market developments, and developing innovative marketing content. You will cover a broad range of industries and sponsors, and coordinate with various trading desks across asset classes, ensuring seamless execution and delivery for clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis and structuring of transactions across a wide range of asset classes, including Digital Infrastructure ABS, Preferred Equity Transactions, Bespoke Loans, Whole Business Securitizations, and others.
  • Drive origination efforts by identifying and developing revenue opportunities through a deep understanding of corporate financing needs and assets.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of materials for client meetings, including presentations on new products and market updates; actively participate in and lead client calls and meetings.
  • Cultivate client relationships by proactively responding to inquiries, pitching new ideas, and providing strategic solutions.
  • Manage and direct the execution process, coordinating among sales, trading, Banking, Risk, legal, and other involved parties (compliance, business management, operations, etc.).
  • Lead engagement with rating agencies, legal counsel, internal control functions, and all deal parties to ensure successful transaction execution.
  • Develop and launch new products and platforms to expand the bank’s offerings in the credit and loan financing space.
  • Monitor and interpret industry and market developments to inform product strategy and business growth.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum seven years in a markets-related transactional role, with significant experience in an investment banking front office or related leadership position.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic vision in originating and executing complex transactions.
  • Strong quantitative skills and intellectual curiosity, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex financial concepts.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of corporate finance and transaction cycles, with a strong execution orientation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders across the firm.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently while leading teams.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Personal integrity, initiative, and strong leadership qualities.
  • High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • FINRA Series 79, 63 licenses preferred.
