POSITION SUMMARY:

The Forecasting & Commercial Assessments Manager leads the development of forecasts and analysis for multiple products and disease areas, with some guidance from the Director.  This role is responsible for multiple assessments throughout the year that will be reviewed by senior leadership.  These asset reviews include in-line and related life cycle management opportunities.  This role works cross functionally to provide insights that influence decision making for key initiatives. The position reports to the Director, Commercial Forecasting.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares product forecasts by applying multiple forecast methodologies, including using Script volume, analog modeling & epidemiology
  • Areas of responsibility include sales forecasts in-line products and life-cycle management (LCMs) including costs to commercialize for LCMs
  • Completes analyses to define forecast assumptions and inputs including desk top research of analogs, working with external and internal market research colleagues to direct work (e.g. demand studies), working with finance and market access for pricing and rebate assumptions
  • Manage knowledge repository and model creation & evolution of forecasting models
  • Prepares and assists in delivery of stakeholder presentations for US and Global leadership
  • Conducts monthly and quarterly demand and financial performance analysis as well as ad hoc reports related to all inline products, acts as consolidator for the team
  • Works with and collaborates with the global forecasting team in the development of U.S. forecasts.
  • Partners with alliance partners, brand teams, analytics and other internal functions in the development and communication of forecast assumptions

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree with 5 years of work experience of which 2 years is in forecasting, finance, data analysis or other quantitative fields within the pharma / biotech industries OR an accredited master’s degree with 3 years of work experience of which 2 years of experience is in forecasting, finance, data analysis or other quantitative fields within the pharma / biotech industries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of forecasting, descriptive analytics, etc. techniques and best practices
  • Comfort and experience working on cross-functional teams in multi-functional projects/programs
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, taking initiative and working independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical subject matter experts
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing project priorities and liaise and drive decision-making in dynamic situations
  • Able to identify best practices and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.  International travel may be required.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics, statistics, etc. techniques and best practices
  • Knowledge of HCP prescriber level data, anonymized patient longitudinal data, etc.
  • Previous experience with analytical software applications such as SAS, R, etc.

 

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 10% travel within the U.S. with some possibility of international travel.  #LI-LM1
