The Manager, Sales Development is a pivotal role within Sinclair, Inc., responsible for supporting go-to-market strategy, packaging, and branded content ideation across the AMP Media portfolio of assets and shows. The Manager will work proactively and collaboratively with sales, sales planning, business development, production, social and marketing to ideate and create proactive revenue opportunities and media plans for major tentpole moments, as well as AMP’s burgeoning portfolio of original shows/podcasts. This person will play a critical role coordinating and organizing opportunities leveraging Sinclair’s content asset portfolio, ensuring revenue is being maximized and the business is adequately tapping into its wide matrix of distribution channels, content assets, and audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Work cross-departmentally with management to develop key company sales initiatives across content verticals.
- Collaborate closely with business dev & sales to identify and maximize revenue opportunities across sports and digital media properties.
- Proactively work with Sinclair sales marketing teams to develop strategic sales decks and presentations to highlight available sponsorships and key opportunities for clients and prospects.
- Support cross functional efforts to launch new podcasts, with a focus on proactive package development and go-to-market strategy.
- Serve as conduit to programming, production and content team on custom opportunities, live events & experiential, and other built if sold opportunities.
- Lead brainstorm sessions to develop creative custom content opportunities for high impact partners.
- Drive cross functional coordination to respond to high value custom RFP’s.
- As needed, support VP Business Dev to liaise with talent on custom sales opportunities and approvals.
- Work with the leadership team to outline a sales roadmap and annual revenue priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and strategies, ensuring efficient operations and a client-centric approach.
- Ensure consistent communication and collaboration between cross functional teams.
- Analyze market trends and insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
- Participate in high-level sales meetings, providing strategic input to guide the sales team in client negotiations and proposal development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Media, Advertising Sales, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales strategy, sponsorships, digital media, sales marketing, or operations.
- Proven track record in developing successful sales strategies and planning campaigns for media or sports divisions.
- Keen understanding of client needs and how to execute and facilitate those internally and externally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize information from multiple departments – and synthesize that for the executive team.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and media planning tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in both digital + sports media strategy and campaign planning.
- Familiarity with sports sponsorship landscape.
- Knowledge of and experience working with podcast/vodcasts, social media, CTV/OTT, sponsorship, live events, and custom content offerings.
- Expertise in data-driven sales strategies, RFP responses and media planning.
