About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for multiple functions including Licensing, Unemployment, and administrative Employee Relations tasks.
Position Responsibilities
- Reviews and tracks all licenses required by Division of Gaming Enforcement for all team members
- Reviews all licensing applications, disclosure statements, financial documents and other records submitted by applicants prior to submission to the DGE.
- Tracks license expirations and maintains communication with Team Members regarding renewals
- Operates and maintains Licensing software and databases for Ocean Casino Resort
- Reviews and approves all bills relative to Licensing and submits approval to Accounts Payable.
- Administers Ocean Casino Resort ’s unemployment program.
- Screen unemployment documents and write detailed letters to the unemployment state agency
- Receive and prioritize claims, questionnaires and other unemployment related data.
- Analyze individual case information by reviewing relevant data to respond to claim.
- Use the details regarding an employee's separation provided by managers or documentation to provide direction for the claim.
- Respond to a state agency with all pertinent details within the time frame allowed by the state or departmental procedures.
- Initiate timely telephone calls, faxes or emails to obtain, document or pass along needed information.
- Provide administrative support to Employee Relations Team by scheduling meetings, answering telephone calls, and responding to basic Employee Relations inquiries from team members and managers.
- File all Employee Relations related paperwork; creating and labeling files.
- Demonstrates a creative, flexible and high energy approach to impacting business results.
- Strong sense of urgency, drive and passion to take ownership of all projects.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Collaborative team player.
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress relating to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Works with sensitive information and maintains a high level of confidentiality
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems
- Two years of gaming regulatory experience is preferred.
