About the role

Company Description

NBCUniversal's company-wide on-air centralized graphics organization, The Arthouse, is seeking a Production Design Manager with a television design background who is deadline driven. This manager produces still and motion graphics for daily news requests as well as works on long form projects and complete package redesigns. They can produce print collateral in process and spot color, design digital ads for desktop, mobile and streaming platforms. They are able to project manage and art direct multiple projects in tandem with numerous designers on each team. This role needs a front-end designer who is also familiar with back-end development and is able to prep and develop Ross XPression templates. We are looking for a leader who feels comfortable to present, educate, and inform others in an open environment.

Job Description

The Arthouse partners with NBCUniversal Local NBC and Telemundo stations, along with Regional Sports Network, NBC Cable Channels and Streaming platforms.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide positive support to our partners
  • Own The Arthouse brand
  • Nightside shift (Start time 4pm)
  • Manage a team by giving art direction and guidance
  • Work with the entire team to maintain established design standards and brands
  • Shoulder day of requests as well as long form projects
  • Keep managers and coordinators looped in on relevant communication with our team and our partners
  • Look for ways to evolve internal processes and push design styles
  • Stay on top of new software techniques and open to change
  • Respect hard deadline

Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English (both verbal and written)
  • Experience in managing a creative team
  • Expert in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premier, InDesign and Cinema 4D
  • Experience in developing real time graphic files: Chyron / Ross
  • Experience in AR/VR
  • Expert Project Manager
  • Strong project management skills and comfort in creating solutions out of ambiguity as well as managing the creative content team pipeline and prioritization

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in broadcast production (Studio production, fabrication, set monitors and graphics, lighting.)
  • Experience in Sketch, HTML, Javascript, Blender, all Google applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of existing and emerging social media and streaming platforms
  • Must work well in a collaborative, team environment and be able to multi-task
  • Demonstrate solid creative skills and the ability to take art direction
  • Curious Maps, & XPression Maps software working knowledge
  • Production experience with a company and/or news station is a plus
  • Familiar with iNews and Dalet (NCS)
  • Visual problem solver who can concept in any medium and execute against most
  • Receptive to all forms of feedback
  • Current event aware and able to work in a news business with difficult story content
  • Strong communication skills and a dedicated, customer-focused approach to servicing a large, deadline-driven client base
  • Savvy in all digital language / terminology. Website, mobile, streaming platforms
  • Reliable and self-sufficient with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Able to learn, retain, and educate others on complex workflows and geography of digital assets
