While the major focus of this position will be the in vivo evaluation of novel therapeutic agents that will support these drug discovery efforts, additional responsibilities include the identification and validation of novel disease and target specific biomarkers, and the development of new pharmacodynamic and disease models for autoimmune indications. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to prepare, review and deliver scientific presentations to internal and external stakeholders; interact with senior management and key opinion leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop therapeutic hypotheses for autoimmune disease(s) based on literature discoveries, in vitro experimental data, in vivo animal modeling, immunological evolution, genetics, clinical data, and technological advances.
- Collaborate alongside a cross-functional team to discover new targets, derive new biological mechanistic insights, and support in vivo pharmacology needs for programs as they move through clinical development.
- Identify and implement appropriate PK/PD and disease models to support clinical candidate selection, human dose projection, biomarker identification, and life cycle management.
- Contribute to portfolio strategy discussions and foster external collaborations to advance program objectives.
- Communicate scientific findings effectively across multidisciplinary teams and to leadership.
- Mentor members of the Immunology in vivo Pharmacology team, providing scientific and strategic direction.
