This is a high-visibility leadership role within the Nuclear Engineering organization. We are seeking a Transformation Leader to serve as the champion for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

The successful candidate will be an effective change agent responsible for generating organization-wide enthusiasm and driving the technical evolution required to meet the Engineer 2030 productivity goals and financial targets. You will lead a team to integrate AI and Data Science into the core of our nuclear engineering processes to drive engineering productivity and transform the way we work.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Champion the AI Revolution: Act as the primary evangelist for AI and Data Science, generating and sustaining enthusiasm across all levels of the organization to ensure rapid adoption of new capabilities.
  • Drive Financial Impact: Architect and implement AI-driven strategies specifically designed to capture the $800M EBITDA growth goal by 2028.
  • Execute "Engineer 2030": Lead the transformation effort to double engineering productivity, moving from $2M to $4M per engineer/year through aggressive automation, AI as a Knowledge Partner, and Virtual Validation engines.
  • Lead a high-performing team to architect, nurture, and implement AI-enabled capabilities across the nuclear enterprise. Work closely with the Digital Engineering senior manager and team to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with the Engineering Digital Tools Strategy and roadmap.
  • Transformation Leadership: Serve as a proactive "in the face" leader who challenges the status quo, identifies waste using Lean + AI thinking, and drives the integration of tools and data across the business.
  • Strategy & Prioritization: Partner closely with Digital Technology and Advanced Research to evolve the ML/AI strategy, ensuring it improves Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost—in that order.
  • Governance & Compliance: Create standard work aligned with the GE Vernova AI Foundry to ensure all AI initiatives meet the rigorous regulatory and security requirements of the nuclear business.
  • Apply Lean + AI thinking, with a Plan, Do, Check, Act mindset, to identify waste, improve standard work, and drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, transformation efforts, and kaizen activities.
  • Own technical requirements and key performance indicators for AI initiatives to enable timely problem solving, delivery of agreed outcomes, and measurable business impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in technical engineering or digital environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role with a track record of driving large-scale organizational transformation.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Collaborative Leadership Style: Proven ability to act as a change agent who is comfortable being "in the face" of the organization to drive high-stakes results.
  • Dual Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of both Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, specifically how they interact with engineering physics and optimization.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong business and financial analysis skills with the ability to link technical milestones to EBITDA and P&L impact.
  • Presence and Influence: Effective oral and written communication skills with the "presence" to influence senior leadership and energize the broader engineering workforce.
  • Lean + AI Mastery: Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile practices to eliminate waste and accelerate design/validation cycles.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and continuous improvement practices, including the ability to apply Lean + AI thinking to standard work, waste elimination, and transformation efforts.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and talent development.
  • Strong team-building and problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving alignment across engineering, product, digital, and research partners.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, improve processes, and drive early adoption of new capabilities and ways of working.
  • Relevant examples of demonstrating the GE Vernova Way principles.
