Job Overview

  • As a Mining Truck Field Technician, you will provide on-site support by maintaining and repairing Komatsu mining haul trucks, including Electric Drive Trucks (EDTs). Travel to various area job sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting. 
  • Entry level to journeyman positions available
  • Opportunities for technicians living outside of local area to mobilize to job sites 
  • Training offered based on experience level, including on-site apprenticeship programs 

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work safely and follow all Komatsu safety policies and procedures
  • Travel to various area job sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting
  • Assist with truck assemblies and commissioning checks
  • Provide detailed service reports
  • Deliver excellent customer service

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred, but not required.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
  • Physical Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (carry/move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.  Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Additional Information

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • May be required to complete a DOT physical.
  • Required to complete MSHA certification.
  • May be required to complete respirator certification.

Work Environment 

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Need to safely handle toxic or caustic chemicals and to mitigate risks of electrical shock and exposure to fumes/airborne particles
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat, wet/cold conditions while conducting outdoor work
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
