Summary of Position
The Supplier Quality Specialist is an on site position in Goleta, California that is responsible for supporting day-to-day operational activities related to supplier quality, ensuring timely issue resolution, and maintaining compliance with ISO 13485/9001 requirements. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Suppliers to address supplier-identified issues, perform supplier drawing reviews for manufacturability, and ensure alignment with quality assurance testing requirements.
This position will also be responsible for Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) issuance and follow-up, as well as monitoring supplier performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and maintain supplier compliance.
Additionally, this role requires hands-on inspection of parts to gather additional information that can be provided to suppliers for root cause analysis and to support continuous improvement initiatives.
**This is an onsite position in our Goleta, CA office.**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily operational support for Manufacturing Engineering on supplier-related quality issues.
- Perform hands-on inspection of parts to gather additional information for suppliers, aiding root cause analysis and driving continuous improvement.
- Review Supplier issue resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Coordinate review of supplier drawings for manufacturability with ensuring compliance with quality and engineering standards.
- Ensure alignment between supplier capabilities and internal Quality Assurance (QA) testing requirements.
- Issue and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) to ensure timely resolution and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct supplier visits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Support supplier qualification and onboarding by reviewing quality documentation and processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality plans for new products.
- Assist in nonconforming material reports (NCR) and CAPA management related to supplier issues.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to improve supplier performance and reduce defects.
- Other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications Expected for Position
- Basic knowledge of ISO 13485/9001 supplier quality requirements and willingness to develop expertise
- Experience with supplier issue resolution, corrective actions (SCARs), and quality improvement.
- Hands-on experience with drawing reviews for manufacturability and quality compliance.
- Ability to align supplier processes with QA testing and inspection protocols.
- Experience with supplier KPIs and performance monitoring methodologies.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and risk-based quality management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEA, and control plans.
- Education: BS degree
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or related roles..
