Role Description
As an early Frontend Engineer at Galileo, you will play a foundational role in designing, building, and scaling our products for AI reliability. You will:
- Develop and Maintain High-Performance Web Applications: Design and implement responsive, scalable, and optimized web applications using Next.js, React, & TypeScript.
- Optimize for Speed and Efficiency: Focus on reducing load times, improving application responsiveness, and enhancing the user experience by employing techniques like code-splitting, lazy loading, and server-side rendering.
- Enhance Code Quality and Maintainability: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code with attention to maintainability and scalability.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with backend developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver cohesive, user-centered applications.
- Troubleshoot and Debug: Identify and resolve performance issues, memory leaks, and bugs to ensure application stability and efficiency.
- Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Set up automated testing, build, and deployment processes to streamline the development workflow and maintain high code quality.
- Implement Testing and Quality Assurance: Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, Playwright, and React Testing Library to ensure code reliability and functionality.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience building UI for customer facing products.
- Experience with React and Next JS.
- A very strong background and experience with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience building frontends for data products.
- Worked with React extensively and know the best tools in the ecosystem to manage state, hooks, component libraries, events, and content effectively.
- Experience building clear API-Client interfaces and enjoy working with product, backend, and design team members to build an awesome product.
- Extensive experience with git and GitHub – it’s almost second nature for you.
- A startup mindset, biasing towards thoughtful action with minimal direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have deployed frontend applications to AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure (both dynamic and static frontend applications)
- Experience rapidly prototyping with Figma to exchange ideas with backend, design, and product team members
