Senior Finance Accountant/Auditor (fixed-term contract)

ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Finance Accountant to join Ocado Group’s International Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll support our international entities across France, the US, Australia, South Korea and Poland, ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth audit delivery.

In this role, you’ll coordinate external audits and statutory financial statements, manage relationships with PwC and local auditors, and prepare insightful board reports highlighting key results. You’ll also support new market setups, maintain strong financial controls, and collaborate with wider Finance teams including Tax, Treasury and Commercial Accounting.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your main responsibilities:

  • Support Ocado’s International Solutions entities across France, the US, Australia, South Korea, and Poland.
  • Coordinate external audits, statutory accounts preparation, and SFS filing.
  • Plan and manage audit and financial statement timelines, attending planning meetings and check-ins.
  • Work with wider Finance teams to deliver on audit requests.
  • Prepare quarterly board packs with key highlights and value-adding commentary.
  • Support new market setups and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Manage relationships with PwC, local auditors, and internal Finance stakeholders.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and maintain GAAP to IFRS bridge reconciliations.
  • Prepare P&L and balance sheet packs for internal reporting and tax purposes.
  • Support monthly bookkeeping and ad hoc journal postings.
  • Assist with tax queries, including transfer pricing analysis.
  • Work to period-end close calendar timelines and support month-end processes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
  • Resolve variances and raise issues with management, suggesting solutions.
  • Contribute to building a high-performing, collaborative, and engaged Finance team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

Essential:

  • Relevant financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or European equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar finance/accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of core financial processes, accounting, tax, and reporting standards and principles.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience working with external auditors and third-party advisors.
  • Ability to deliver accurate, timely data and reporting with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Adaptable, positive mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Proactive in owning personal development and improving technical, soft skills, and business knowledge.
  • Language proficiency: English (C1), Polish (B2).

Desirable:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer or user experience.
  • Experience in process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Ability to set and achieve stretch goals while identifying opportunities for further improvement.
