Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Provides a ministry of pastoral care and counseling to patients, families, and staff in crises of illness and/or trauma. Provides resources of religious faith that will enhance the total program of treatment and care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Acts as Liaison to community clergy and congregations.
• Provides pastoral care to patients and families.
• Provides Pastoral Care to staff and faculty.
• Provides regular opportunities for worship.
• Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.
• The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Shift Position:

M-F, 12:30pm-9:00pm

Staff assignment includes Hematology/Oncology and NICU


TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Patient Assessment (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient assessments in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Crisis Intervention (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate crisis intervention in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Spiritual Knowledge (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of spiritual knowledge in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering spiritual knowledge services without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving technical instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
• Adult Learning (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the Adult Learning skill in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
