Contract Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Biology/Oncology (6 Months)
Monte Rosa TherapeuticsAbout the role
Overview
Monte Rosa, an industry leader in targeted protein degradation, is seeking an energetic and self-motivated research associate to join our innovative team working towards discovery of unique molecular glue degraders for the treatment of targeted patient populations in oncology. This is a lab-based position, offering the opportunity to impact oncology projects as they progress from lead optimization to pre-IND studies.
The candidate will be a highly motivated experimentalist with a demonstrated track record of collaboration and a strong desire to contribute to project success.
Responsibilities
Validate molecular degrader hits by employing techniques such as western blot, CRISPR, qPCR, and flow cytometry to assess target and biomarker expression and impact on cellular viability, proliferation, and/or downstream biomarkers
Develop, validate, and independently execute cell-based assays using cell lines representing cancers of different lineages
Participate in team drug discovery biology efforts to perform target validation, mechanism of action studies, and compound selection and progression
Interpret, present, and report research findings at internal meetings
Qualifications
BS or MSc in cell/molecular biology, cancer biology, genetics, or equivalent field of study with 2+ years of hands-on experience in drug discovery research, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
Previous work with culture and maintenance of mammalian cell lines, including transfection and transduction techniques, as well as stable cell line generation, is highly desired
Experience with protein detection/quantification methodology (e.g. western blotting, antibody reagent validation, AlphaLISA) is preferred
Prior experience preparing drug dilutions and performing drug sensitivity experiments preferred
Ability to maintain timely and detailed notes using electronic lab notebook, in addition to demonstrated experience using GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic willingness to learn a variety of new techniques and biological approaches, and an ability to work in a matrixed team and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
