About the role

Position Overview

As the Sr. Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for guiding and training the maintenance directives pertaining to the performing of highly diversified duties that include installation, troubleshoot, repair and maintenance on production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the plant's goals and objectives.  You will be considered the subject matter expert with all things related to maintenance.  You will also develop training material and station maintenance expectations for all other Maintenance Technicians.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Leads routine facility audits by inspecting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including both rolling stock and stationary equipment.
  • Leads all preventative maintenance.
  • Understands and communicates equipment failures, determines cause(s) and makes necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Oversees accurate records of equipment failures and repairs.
  • Participates in on-call availability for maintenance and emergency requests.
  • Ensures that safety, health and environmental legal and company standards are complied with, emphasizing safety as a top priority.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • May be required to operate a forklift and Loader to move equipment and parts.
  • Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis is essential to the performance of this job.
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and chase electrical Problems.
  • Familiar with 480-volt 3 Phase, VFD's, Starters, Overloads, and PLC's is preferred.
  • Ability to set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
  • Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
  • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Ability to set-up and maintain a system for providing preventive maintenance and service for miscellaneous production equipment (K&S dicing saw, precision grinder, pumps/compressors, lapper, metal vapor deposition system, etc.).
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years’ experience in equivalent role.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Experience with set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of K&S 980 dicing saws and other equipment.
  • Experience working in the medical device industry (ISO, GMP, FDA, QSR, etc.).

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Manual dexterity to use hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to carry 20-50lbs with or without accommodations.​
  • Must be able to stand for periods of time throughout the day.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $26.75/hr. - $40.00/hr. depending on experience (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
