Position Summary: The Production Scheduler is responsible for reviewing customer demand, releasing work orders to production, and sequencing production to ensure consistent production flow and to support on-time delivery to the customers. Works closely with facility leadership, Material’s Department, Production Manager and Team Members to ensure products are produced according to schedule. When not scheduling, Production Scheduler will be responsible for cycle counts to ensure material/part accuracy.

As successful production scheduler should be able to support and optimize operations via integrity, professionalism, production capability, operational support, contract and process excellence, and continuous improvement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate completion/closure of existing work orders
  • Assist in tracking any past due orders
  • Communicate with facility leadership to ensure accurate lead times are being followed as well as orders being released in a timely manner
  • Produce schedules in a timely manner to all facets of the facility to prevent lapse in work to any department while simultaneously maintaining awareness of requested dates while scheduling to aid in prevention of back orders
  • Work with the Material Manager to ensure material will be on hand for any finished goods that are being scheduled to make the appropriate substitutions to specific work order bill of materials when necessary.
  • Communicate with the Material Manager for any variances experienced through scheduling
  • Work and communicate collaboratively with the other disciplines within the facility
  • Monitor inventory through cycle counts and support in identifying root-causes for inventory variance
  • Implement and abide by corporate policies and procedures
  • Prepare reports and monitor inventory, material usage and efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in production leadership required
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems. Oracle experience preferred
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication
  • Experience and Commitment to Lean principles desired

Physical Demands

  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work primarily involves sitting/standing, up to 4-hours at a time
  • Work is subject to weather, dust, and noise

Travel Requirements

  • up to 5%
