MISSION / SUMMARY:
Coordinates all production activity on presses and cutters to meet service demands. Coordinates service, shipments, and inventory information with central service, shipping, and production departments to ensure expedient and efficient processing of orders. Coordinates activities between all functions of the Production Control area. Maintains inventory and order balances in the HP and locator systems. Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s product safety programs (HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, etc.) and Lean initiatives.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
Instructions: This portion should include Principal Duties and Responsibilities for a position. Include only those current duties and responsibilities that account for 5% or more of the work.
- Coordinate all production activities in the plant.
- Communicate and resolve service issues with customer service, sales and scheduling.
- Coordinate all internal activities to set plant up for successful completion of jobs.
- Communicates with Plant Manager, Production Managers, and plant supervision the production priorities.
- Review and coordinate capacity demands and adjust based on customer requirements.
- Work with Sales and Capacity teams to identify loading optimization opportunities.
- Supervise Plant Scheduler, Board Planner, Shipping Supervisor and Purchasing Coordinator.
- Support plant Controller in month-end activities, COV, sales and inventory analysis.
- Lead onboarding of all new business
- Produce a variety of reports as required
- Manage inventories in accordance with working capital goals
- Lead coordination of all outsourcing activities when necessary.
- Participate in Annual plant review of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) system & internal audit /schedule.
- Act as liaison between sales, service, manufacturing, and plant operations, while also supporting company initiatives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, on time delivery and cost savings initiatives.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field preferred
- Background and experience in planning
