The AI Application Solution Architect will lead and manage AI initiatives across the health system. This role will play a critical part in the implementation, integration, and strategic development of AI solutions that support clinical and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong healthcare domain knowledge and strategic vision.The AI Application Solution Architect works in a support role with a variety of enterprise and departmental applications and users at all levels throughout the organization. The position requires thorough knowledge about all aspects of the application software and related infrastructure within identified areas of responsibility. Will design, develop, test, deploy and maintain data processing solutions to enhance the applications and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Lead the deployment of and participate in the design and development of AI-based applications across all care settings and business operational areas.
2. Serve as project manager and technical lead on AI initiatives from concept through implementation.
3. Collaborate with organizational leadership, staff, and executive stakeholders to define AI solution requirements and success metrics.
4. Evaluate new AI technologies and vendors, perform feasibility studies, and build business cases.
5. Develop short- and long-term AI roadmaps aligned with Genesis Healthcare’s digital intelligent automation strategy.
6. Ensure integration and interoperability with the Genesis application stack, including enterprise and specialty systems.
7. Participate in governance to ensure best practices for AI ethics, privacy, security, and compliance in line with Genesis mission and values.
8. Understands the application workflows of responsible software modules.
9. Responsible for back-end jobs & processes necessary for the operation of the system.
10. Works closely with the department manager to build out future roadmaps to support the business' needs.
11. Coordinates application and infrastructure upgrades and involves the appropriate experts at Genesis for a smooth transition.
12. Coordinates legacy system conversion methodology.
13. Coordinates system integrations and interfaces working closely with the IT interface team assuring robust interoperability.
14. Clearly understands the role each IT member plays with the systems and delegates to those members appropriately.
15. Is actively involved with regular change control and will identify areas of impact outside their domain and notify responsible technical experts in those areas.
16. Works with Data Governance to maintain an inventory of all data leaving Genesis.
17. Assesses the system architecture currently in place and works with technical teams to recommend solutions to improve it.
18. Knowledge of technical aspects of projects, identifies risk, propose immediate solutions, and provide guidance for computer system solutions.
19. Collaborates with the technical teams to maintain hardware and resolve infrastructure and technical issues.
20. Works closely with vendor support and managed services to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and accurate manner.
21. Thoroughly understand business practices and procedures in order to develop and maintain automated workflow processes.
22. Collaborates with the IT cybersecurity team to assure applications and software meet the Genesis security requirements, practices and standards
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate’s degree in computer science, management, an IT-related discipline, a Clinical Field or equivalent experience required.
2. Minimum one-year of hands-on experience implementing AI or data-driven solutions, preferably in a healthcare setting.
3. Appropriate certifications must be completed as assigned by manager. Competencies for applications must be met/maintained and will be tracked by manager/director.
